Culture that inspires

“Culture night” is a one-night cultural festival in Vilnius, which is the capital of Lithuania. This festival occurs annually in June or July. Nevertheless in 2020, due to global pandemic situation it is planned to be moved to autumn. Festival will welcome guests with slogan “Culture that inspires”. The Culture Night in Vilnius has been organized since 2007. In order to create a new cultural tradition in the city. For three years, this celebration was part of the national program “Vilnius – European Capital of Culture 2009”. Nearly a hundred and fifty various cultural events fill the spaces of former capital of culture of Europe during this sleepless night.

The festival, now in its fourteenth year this year, is due to take place on September 25th.

We hope that in the autumn it will be possible to hold larger events and warm night of September will leave unforgettable memories for those who decided to join the event. “The decision to relocate the festival was made in order to ensure public safety and not to risk the health of the participants of the event”, says Gintarė Šiaulytė, the director of the Culture Night festival. More than 150,000 people attend the festival’s events each year, making it difficult to ensure safe distances at an event of this magnitude located in different parts of the city.

The organizers of the festival promise that in the autumn visitors will have new experiences. In various places of the city, everyone will be invited to watch musical and theatrical performances, interdisciplinary art, installations and participate in creative workshops, circuses, exhibitions and other artistic activities
